Regional West Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is an Advanced Life Support ground ambulance service that serves the 16 counties in Trauma Region Four and beyond, staffing both Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and Nationally Registered Paramedics (NRP). With ambulances available in Chadron, Gordon, Kimball, Ogallala, Oshkosh, Scottsbluff, and Sidney, Regional West EMS provides emergency and non-emergency 911, hospital to hospital, and critical care transport services. As one of just three Level II Trauma Centers in Nebraska and the only one west of Kearney, Regional West EMS is an essential part of Regional West Trauma Services.

Our fleet of ambulances is fully equipped with Advanced Life Support equipment to meet the individual needs of the patients entrusted to our care. Because Regional West is a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence, we also have ambulances and equipment to meet the needs and dignity of our bariatric patients.

In the summer of 2002, Regional West Medical Center established Emergency Response Care (ERC) in response to a request from the City of Sidney, Neb.; Cheyenne County; and Memorial Health Care Center regarding its need for both 911 services and inter-facility transports between regional hospitals.

Since that initial request, ERC’s name has changed to Regional West Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to enhance and focus on Regional West’s continued focus on providing trauma services with a growing fleet of ambulances.

We staff Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and Nationally Registered Paramedics (NRP). All of our paramedics must be nationally registered within one year of employment.

We are always looking for good people. If you are a patient-dedicated medic interested in living and working in one of the many communities in western Nebraska, we want to talk to you. Call Randy Meininger, Regional West EMS Manager, at 308-641-6811. Interested in becoming an EMT or paramedic? Click here for more information.
