Regional West Foundation grants approximately 45 educational scholarships annually. Approximately $75,000 is awarded to students from the Regional West service area, and approximately 75 percent of the students pursue employment in the Regional West service area following graduation.

Memorial and Honorary Scholarships

Regional West Foundation awards an average of 25 memorial and honorary scholarships annually. Memorial and honorary scholarships are available to students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing, Western Division in Scottsbluff.
Recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA and wish to remain in the western Nebraska/eastern Wyoming area while pursuing their career in the medical field and be registered as full time student to receive the scholarship. These scholarships average $1,000 each. Applications are available annually beginning March 1 and due by June 1. Applicants for memorial and honorary scholarships must complete Applications (Form A) of the application.

Additional scholarships and loans available through Regional West Foundation include Medical Student Conditional Scholarship Loans and Blood Center/Field of Laboratory Medicine Scholarships. 

Foundation Legacy Scholarships

Each year, the Foundation also awards numerous legacy scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $10,000 each, designated for the following programs: 

  • Associates degree in Nursing at Western Nebraska Community College

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing, Western Division in Scottsbluff
  • Accepted and enrolled in the Radiologic Technology program at Regional West School of Radiological Technology.

Eligible students for these scholarships must be enrolled as a sophomore, full time student, second level, or higher, with a 3.2 GPA. Additionally, they must also have a desire to pursue employment in the Regional West service area. Applications are available annually beginning March 1 and are due June 1. Applicants for the $2,000 to $10,000 legacy scholarships must complete Form B of the application.
