Radiology, also known as Imaging Services, is an area of medicine that enables physicians and providers to "see" inside the human body in order to diagnose and monitor disease. The first step in addressing medical concerns, whether it's a broken bone, a spinal injury or a suspected tumor, is to find its precise location within the body, accurately measure it and provide a "roadmap" that guides physicians and providers during treatment.
Whether it's preventing or treating an illness, Imaging Services is a critical part of healthcare.
The staff of Regional West's Imaging Services department includes:
- Board-certified radiologists
- Registered radiologic technologists
- Registered nurses
- Licensed practical nurses
- Technical aides
- Administrative employees
Working within their respective areas, our team performs and interprets exams in a timely manner, providing physicians, providers, and their patients with accurate results as quickly as possible.
At Regional West, our patients receive the diagnostic testing they need without traveling far from home. We combine the highest level of technology with the convenience of a community hospital. The scope of our services include:
- Multi-slice computed tomography (CT) scans
- 1.5 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
- Diagnostic X-ray
- Positron emission tomography (PET) services
- Ultrasound, mammography, nuclear medicine, interventional radiology, and bone density testing
Regional West has also been the home of the School of Radiologic Technology since 1951.
Imaging Services schedules appointments seven days a week for some services. Emergency services are available 24/7. While we can only accept orders from physicians or providers on your behalf, we are glad to answer any questions you might have.
