Patients are Like Family to Reynolds
When staff pharmacist Jeremy Reynolds, RP, PharmD, is filling an order at Community Pharmacy at Regional West, his vision is of a patient, rather than a prescription.
“Every time every one of us fills a prescription, we always consider what’s in the best interest of the patient,” Jeremy said. “Our team members genuinely care about our patients, and we always try to treat the patient like they’re one of our family members or one of us.”
Reynolds said the pharmacists at Community Pharmacy work well together and in conjunction with their customers, many of whom they know by name, and physicians issuing the prescriptions they fill.
“Pharmacy has been a great profession for me,” he said. “It’s really more of a science and an art. I know that’s kind of cliché to say, but it’s something I really enjoy doing. If I see a place where something can be done better, that challenges me, and I enjoy approaching those kinds of challenges.”
Reynolds’ work recently earned him a nomination as a STAR Award winner, having been nominated as a staff member who demonstrates outstanding care and customer service.
A Scottsbluff native, Reynolds left the region to finish his schooling at the University of Wyoming, then worked at pharmacies in Chadron and Douglas, Wyoming, before returning four years ago to be near his family.
In addition to the standard services of a pharmacy, Community Pharmacy works with physicians and providers to offer medication therapy management, and is part of the Take-Back program with the state of Nebraska, allowing individuals to turn in unused or expired medications for proper disposal.
Ultimately, Reynolds said the services offered by Community Pharmacy and the focus of the pharmacists on staff are all about the patient.
“Our patients come first,” he said. “What’s in the best interest of the patient? Treating them like family. Treating them like you would want to be treated. Everything revolves around that.”
