STARS of the Quarter

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., ― Regional West recently recognized three employees as STAR award winners for the first two quarters of 2026. Those recognized include Ginny Ostdiek, Human Resources; Beth Ruzicka, RN, Emergency Department; and Paige Hancock, Emergency Department.

The STAR program at Regional West encourages employees, patients, their family members, and visitors to nominate employees who demonstrate outstanding care and customer service.

Ostdiek was recognized for her vigilance, persistence, and quiet leadership through action. She identified a system-related error that could have had a significant downstream impact on employees. Her attention to detail and willingness to pause, verify, and escalate appropriately prevented broader issues and protected both employees and the organization.

Ruzicka was thanked by a patient for trusting her intuition and requested further testing for the patients, noting her intuition literally saved their lives.

Hancock offered not only physical, but emotional, support to a family experiencing a traumatic event. She stepped in to support the family in a time of great need.

"At Regional West, we truly value and celebrate employees who go above and beyond in delivering superior care and outstanding customer service," said Ned Resch, President and CEO. "We wholeheartedly encourage all our physicians, providers, and employees to take that extra step in creating memorable experiences for our patients. These dedicated individuals embody our mission and make a real difference in the lives of those we serve.”
