Air Link to Conduct Emergency Drill Wednesday Evening

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – Air Link will conduct an emergency response drill on Wednesday evening, Dec. 10, that will simulate a fire on the helipad.

The drill will take place on the helipad located above the Regional West Medical Center Emergency Department. Regional West Health Services, Air Link, Scottsbluff Fire Department, Valley Ambulance, and the Scotts Bluff County Communications Department will all be involved in the drill. A briefing with local law enforcement and emergency responders will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the drill starting at 6:45 p.m.

The Emergency Department will remain open throughout the drill, as will all hospital entrances. Air Link will remain in service. If Air Link is dispatched for a flight, the drill will be postponed.

“This drill is one of many ongoing efforts to develop an emergency response plan and test multi-agency and multi-department communication with ever changing technology, and to test our ability to keep our patients and staff safe,” said Doug Carrell, Director of Air Link and the Transfer Center at Regional West.
