Regional West Leadership Update

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., ― The Regional West Health Services Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Tim Osterholm, MPA, as acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Osterholm currently serves as the interim Chief Operating Officer of Regional West Physicians Clinic.

The leadership transition follows the resignation of Ned Resch, Regional West President and CEO, who has led the organization since March of 2025.

"Regional West has been fortunate to have two exceptional leaders in Ned and Tim. Ned has helped unite the organization, strengthen its culture, and provide greater focus on strategic planning and opportunities for improvement. While we wish Ned the best in his new venture, we are excited to have someone of Tim’s caliber stepping in to seamlessly lead the organization,” said John Massey, chair of the Regional West Health Services board. “Tim has served in various leadership roles at Regional West and is highly respected by both our medical staff and employees. He has played a crucial role in enhancing the patient experience at Regional West, and we look forward to his continued contributions.”

Osterholm brings over 30 years of leadership experience in healthcare to the organization. Prior to rejoining the Regional West leadership team earlier this year, he served as the Region Vice President of Oncology Services for the CommonSpirit Health Mountain Region. While with Regional West, Osterholm held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer.

Osterholm earned an undergraduate degree in medical technology from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He also holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Nebraska Omaha and is a certified executive coach through the Hudson Institute of Coaching.

"Regional West is experiencing strong momentum during what is undoubtedly one of the most challenging times for hospitals and healthcare systems across the country," said Osterholm. "With Ned’s leadership and through the focus of our entire team, we are seeing meaningful improvements in employee engagement, patient experience, and overall quality performance."

"I am honored to have been asked to step into this role." he added. "Our dedicated physicians, providers, staff, and volunteers put our patients and families first on a daily basis, and I look forward to building on this progress together."

Resch will remain in an advisory capacity and focus on special projects through mid-January in support of the transition.

"Regional West will always hold a special place in my family's story. Our goal was to move here and establish deep community connections for the long term. However, sometimes life takes unexpected turns, and opportunities arise that must be embraced. We are incredibly grateful for the warm welcome the community has extended to us, and we wish everyone the best as we move forward," said Resch.
