Regional West Physicians Clinic-Women’s Center Earns Ultrasound Practice Reaccreditation

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., ― Regional West is proud to announce that the Women’s Center was recently awarded another three-year ultrasound practice accreditation from the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM). The clinic has been ultrasound certified for over 22 years.

AIUM ultrasound accreditation allows practices to demonstrate that they meet or exceed nationally recognized standards in the performance and interpretation of diagnostic ultrasound examinations. In order to achieve certification, all facets of the Women’s Center clinic were assessed, including: personnel education, training, and experience; document storage and record keeping; policies and procedures safeguarding patients, ultrasound personnel, and equipment; instrumentation; quality assurance; and case studies.

“AIUM accreditation in diagnostic ultrasound demonstrates our adherence to the high standards of quality and safety in gynecologic and obstetric ultrasound,” said Women’s Center physician Wendy Reeves, MD, FACOG. “With over 94 years of combined experience, our ultrasound techs Shari Riley, Amy Winkler, and Kim Kildow have a wealth of ultrasound knowledge. In addition, all Women’s Center physicians are required to have 30 hours of ultrasound education every three years. We are proud to be recognized for the rigorous voluntary guidelines we follow in order to provide excellent ultrasound care.”

For over 43 years, the Women’s Center has specialized in obstetrics and gynecology, which includes the examination, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of all aspects of women's health. The clinic’s physicians have all completed at least four years of specialty training after medical school and take courses regularly to keep up with the latest advances in women's care.
