Miller Receives Regional West’s 2025 Caring Kind Award

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., ― Jessica Miller, RN, a clinical resource nurse in Regional West’s Emergency Department, is the facility’s 2025 Caring Kind Award recipient.
The Caring Kind Award, presented annually by the Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA), honors outstanding healthcare employees who have demonstrated compassion for patients, cooperation with co-workers, and dedication to excellence in their job responsibilities. Since 1979, Nebraska hospitals have honored their finest employees with The Caring Kind Awards. NHA member hospitals statewide are eligible to select one award recipient from their respective institutions to receive The Caring Kind Award honor.
In her nomination, Miller was praised for her positivity and compassion for her patients.
“Jessica has been with Regional West for 10 years and has positively impacted so many lives. She is the epitome of what a nurse should be,” her nomination read. “She is positive in times of crisis, supports in times of need, is knowledgeable in times of uncertainty, and is a strong support to all those around her. Working on shift with Jess is knowing that you will always have a helping hand when needed. Students that work alongside Jess speak highly of her ability to share information, train, and exemplify teamwork attitude. Jess truly understands the value in mentorship, and she is a key component in our organization's growth. Patients and their families seem to remember the truly amazing patient care Jess provides and speak often of positive memories. Regional West is truly lucky to have such a positive employee as Jess that truly cares about the future of healthcare, and our organization.”
Miller’s supervisor Marisa Nicol, RN, Regional West’s executive director of Emergency Services, added that Miller’s positive attitude makes a remarkable impact on both her coworkers and her patients.
“Jessica embodies what it is to be a leader in the Emergency Department. She is clinically excellent and takes great care of all our patients. From day to day, she can adapt and change direction based on the needs of the department or incoming patients. Where she shines the brightest is leading by example with a great attitude and a smile on her face,” Nicol said. “She makes a difference every day.
