Regional West Honors Staff at Quarterly Awards Banquet

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – Regional West recently hosted its fourth quarter Employee Awards Reception; recognizing staff for years of service, and recipients of the STAR, PEARL, and DAISY awards for outstanding service and patient care. Employees are nominated quarterly by co-workers, staff, patients, and visitors. The STAR and PEARL of the year were also awarded.

The STAR program at Regional West encourages employees, patients, their family members, and visitors to nominate employees who demonstrate outstanding care and customer service. STAR of the year is Jennifer Arnold who works in the Acute Rehabilitation Unit. STAR award winners for the fourth quarter are Linda Rowley of The Village at Regional West, and Teresa Toedtli, who works in the Acute Rehabilitation Unit.

The PEARL award recognizes employees for outstanding customer service, quality patient care, and teamwork. The PEARL of the year is Tom Sandoval who works at Regional West Physicians Clinic-Orthopaedics. PEARL award winners for the fourth quarter are Rosalie Nelson of Regional West Physicians Clinic-Surgery & Vascular Diagnostics, and Michelle Lien of Regional West Physicians Clinic-Urgent Care.

The DAISY Award is an international program that celebrates excellence in nursing. It recognizes and honors the inspiring work that nurses do every day. The winner of the second Regional West DAISY Nursing Award is Tori Towne, RN, who works in the Emergency Department.

Regional West also honored long-term employees; recognizing staff who have worked for Regional West from five to 40 years.

20 Years: Gary Beals – Facilities Management, Sheli Goodwin – Home Care, Laurie Schluterbusch – The Village at Regional West, Delia Ybarra – The Village at Regional West, Rebecka Conroy – The Village at Regional West. 25 Years: Christopher Smith – Facilities Management, Glenda Magallanes – Sterile Processing.

30 Years: Dee Vogel – Air Link. 35 Years: Jennifer Meyer – Ambulatory Care Unit, Teresa Miller – Pre-Admit Testing. 40 Years: Linda Fowler – Critical Care.
