Regional West Air Link Nurse Receives “Caring Kind” Award

Scottsbluff, NE – Air Link Flight Nurse/Paramedic Tracy Meyer, RN, BSN, was among 72 health care professionals statewide to be honored as a Caring Kind employee at the Nebraska Hospital Association’s 2009 Annual Convention in Lincoln, Neb.

The award honors outstanding health care employees who have demonstrated compassion for patients, cooperation with co-workers, and dedication to excellence in their job responsibilities. For 30 years, the Nebraska Hospital Association has paid tribute to Nebraska’s most caring hospital workers with the Caring Kind award. Hospitals across the state select one Caring Kind recipient from within their respective institutions to be recognized during the NHA Annual Convention.

As one of the winners of Regional West’s “Shooting Star of the Year” employee recognition awards, Meyer was chosen as Regional West’s Caring Kind recipient.

“Tracy is an excellent employee,” said Susan Cozine, RN, BSN, Director of Critical Care and Emergency Services, who is one of Meyer’s supervisors.

“Tracy’s love for education is her greatest strength. She has juggled literally hundreds of educational in-services and events for hospitals and ambulance squads. Because of the education which Tracy continues to provide, she has improved the quality of patient care across the region. She is the heart of Air Link and very deserving of the Caring Kind award,” said Cozine.

Meyer said she was honored to receive the award. “I was surprised. This could have easily been given to any number of other great employees,” said Meyer. “I really appreciate it. It’s nice to go to work every day knowing your extra effort is appreciated.”
