Regional West Welcomes First Baby of the New Year

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – Raymond Anthony Mata is Regional West Medical Center’s New Year’s Baby. He was the first baby born at Regional West’s Birth and Infant Care Center in 2013.

Proud parents Kelli Vanderveen and Raymond Mata of Gering welcomed little Raymond into the world at 2:44 a.m. on New Year’s Day. He weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces and measured 51.5 centimeters long. Mother and child are doing fine.

Baby Raymond received a bag full of gifts from the Medical Center in recognition of his distinction as Regional West’s “First Baby of the New Year.”
