Regional West Foundation Receives $100,000 Donation from Valley Bank and Trust for the Campaign for Continuing Excellence

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – As construction continues on the new Education Center at Regional West Medical Center, so does community support of Regional West Foundation’s Campaign for Continuing Excellence.

“We’ve been overjoyed with our generous donors from the community and employees of Regional West. Their contributions have helped us reach two-thirds of our $4.2 million goal,” said Regional West Foundation Director Shelley Knutson.

A $100,000 donation from Valley Bank in Scottsbluff is another successful step forward for the campaign. “It’s a worthy cause. The hospital is important to the community. As a businessman, I know how important quality health care is to our employees and customers,” said John Stinner, CEO of Valley Bank. “Health care is undergoing big challenges that will have an effect on Regional West and our community. We were asked if we could help in that cause and we were happy to do what we could.”

Projects designated for funding through the Campaign for Continuing Excellence include development of a new education center, which is being constructed adjacent to the Medical Center’s second floor lobby. It will feature the latest audio-visual and communications technology and provide on-site meeting space for 200 people.

In addition, renovation on 2 West’s Patient Care Unit will soon be underway as part of the Medical Center’s “Renewal Project.” The Foundation has committed $600,000 for the renovation of approximately 24 patient rooms.

The campaign will also fund the purchase and installation of a large-bore CT simulator at the Cancer Treatment Center as well as new cardiac catheterization equipment in the Heart Center.

Regional West Foundation has been raising funds for the benefit of the hospital since 1972. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that solicits tax-deductible private contributions for the benefit of Regional West Medical Center.
