Air Link Open House May 23

Scottsbluff, NE -Regional West Air Link will celebrate its new partnership with Med-Trans Corporation at an open house on Saturday, May 23, 2 to 4 p.m., at the hangar and adjacent parking lot located on the Regional West campus at Avenue B and 42nd Street in Scottsbluff. The Air Link staff encourages the public to join them that day for dedication speeches, a blessing of the aircraft, prizes, and games. During the celebration, held on the last day of National Emergency Medical Services Week, Air Link One and the crew will be available for pictures. Many area volunteer and paid Fire/Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers have also been invited to attend and bring equipment for picture opportunities. There will be a series of drawings for prizes and games for children including water balloon relays and coloring contests.

As part of the celebration, Air Link has invited former patients to tell their story’s at the event. They will be joined by representatives from both Regional West and Med-Trans Corporation in commemorating the event.

In addition to celebrating a new operations partnership, Air Link One will likely fly its 1,000,000th mile in May. Attendees of the open house will have a chance to take home themed apparel and items honoring them as million mile club members. Since its inception in 1995, Air Link has served a four state region, including roughly 28,000 square miles in Nebraska alone.

Serving as the link between local paid and volunteer EMS services, Air Link gives direct access for critical patients to needed specialized care-whether at Regional West or other specialized facilities through both flights from the scene of an accident and from facility to facility.
