Regional West Drive-Through Flu Shot Clinic To Be Held September 13

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – Regional West’s annual drive-through flu shot clinic will be held Saturday, September 13 from 8 to 11 a.m. at Regional West Medical Plaza South, 3911 Avenue B, Scottsbluff. The drive-through clinic is for Medicare patients only. Patients are asked to bring their Medicare Part B cards, wear a short-sleeved shirt, and no jacket.

“The drive-through clinic makes getting a flu shot so much easier for seniors, especially those with mobility issues,” said Sandy Preston, RN, Regional West Community Health nurse. “We suggest that family, friends, and neighbors drive to the clinic together, with a person seated at each window so our nurses can easily give the shots to four people per car. It’s a great way to get everyone vaccinated quickly.”

Regional West flu shot clinics are being held early this fall, based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The CDC recommends everyone over the age of 6 months get flu vaccinations as soon as vaccine becomes available in U.S. communities.

On September 27, Regional West will have a walk-in flu shot clinic for adults, teens, and children over age six months. Medicare patients are also welcome at the walk-in clinic. It will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 27 at the Community Health office at St. Mary Plaza, 3700 Avenue B, Scottsbluff.

For those who prefer or require a variation of the flu vaccine, several options will be available at the Community Health office. The options include: flu mist, flu vaccine for those with egg allergies, high-dose vaccine for those age 65 and older, and quadravalent injectable. These flu vaccines and the pneumonia vaccine will be available upon request while supplies last. Prices will vary.

Routine flu shots (trivalent) will cost $30. Payment may be made by cash or check, or insurance companies will be billed for those who bring their insurance card. Medicare Part B will be billed for those who bring their Medicare card to either the drive-through or walk-in clinics.
