Regional West Physicians Clinic Launches Smoking Cessation Program

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – In an effort to help area residents enjoy a healthier, smoke-free life, Regional West Physicians Clinic recently introduced a new Smoking Cessation Program – designed to help patients safely stop smoking. The goal is to provide counseling, tools, and resources to help patients kick the smoking habit for good.

Regional West’s Smoking Cessation Program is covered by most private insurance, as well as by Medicaid and Medicare.

The program includes four patient visits a year, and a referral to the Nebraska Quit Line, which provides free, 24/7 access to counseling and support services during the process. In addition to personalized counseling and education, Borgman works with each patient to identify and prescribe aides designed to help curb nicotine cravings and eliminate smoking as part of daily life, including nicotine replacement options and/or medication.
