21st Century Equipment donates $50,000 to Regional West Foundation

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – In recognition of the importance of the availability of quality local health care to the 425 employees of 21st Century Equipment, company president and CEO Owen Palm donated $50,000 to Regional West Foundation’s Campaign for Continuing Excellence.

“The critical services the hospital provides is a key motivator for supporting the Foundation’s campaign,” said Palm. “We understand that training and ongoing education is essential for the hospital to continue to provide quality care, so we’re happy to support the construction of the education center, in particular.”

The Campaign for Continuing Excellence is providing resources to design, construct, furnish, and install the latest technology for an on-site education center. The new training facility will expand local continuing education opportunities for hospital staff and providers. It is scheduled to open this fall.

In addition, the campaign is funding the renovation of patient rooms and common areas, a new CT simulator for the Cancer Treatment Center, and new cardiac catheterization equipment for the Heart Center.

Palm views the 21st Century Equipment contribution as an investment in the community.

“We have a large footprint across western Nebraska, from Gordon to Sidney and everywhere in between. Access to quality health care is vital to local communities and helps attract employees to the organization,” said Palm.

John Massey, president of Regional West Foundation, said the agricultural community has been very generous in supporting the campaign.

“Area farmers, ranchers, and agribusinesses are the backbone of our communities and they value the importance of local health care services. We’re grateful for their loyal support of the hospital and Regional West Foundation,” said Massey.

Regional West Foundation has been raising funds for the benefit of the hospital since 1972. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that solicits tax-deductible private contributions for the benefit of Regional West Medical Center.
