Positive patient experience Birth and Infant Care Center

After four previous birthing experiences in Colorado hospitals, a panhandle couple was wowed when their fifth child was born at Regional West’s Birth and Infant Care Center (BICC) in October.

“I very literally cannot overstate how impressed I am with the quality of care we received when my wife gave birth at Regional West,” said the new father. “I have never been so impressed. We recently moved to the area and had some worries about smaller-hospital care. We were wrong. Very, very wrong.”

Having worked in the medical field in various capacities for two decades, including a two-year stint in medical school before moving to the software engineering field, he said they researched several hospitals in the region and read reviews before choosing Regional West for their baby’s birth. He said he felt the need to reach out and share their positive BICC experience after the “attentive, professional” treatment the new family received.

He praised the attention, quality of care, and bedside manner from physicians, nurse practitioners, and the nursing staff.

“I expected current best practice treatment, but I felt like we got so much more than that. From the first positive interaction when we arrived, that set the tone for everything to come,” he said. “Kindness and genuine care from the very very start to the very very end. Buttons pushed never took more than 10 seconds for a response, and when we asked for something, it was never more than maybe a minute or two away.”

“I really hope I have conveyed how thankful and impressed I am with your entire staff in the BICC unit,” he concluded. “Whatever you are doing, keep doing it. Absolutely incredible.”
