Congratulations, Family Medicine Residency Program
Big congratulations to the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) Rural Training Track Family Medicine Residency Program, together with partner Regional West Medical Center, for recognition by the Rural Medical Training Collaborative (RMTC) as a 2025 featured program with a proven track record of producing rural physicians. The annual recognition highlights medical residency programs demonstrating a strong commitment to building the rural physician workforce by having at least 35% of physicians enter rural practice as their initial placement. In the latest list, UNMC, along with residency program partners at hospitals in Scottsbluff, Grand Island, Kearney, and North Platte, averaged 75% of physicians choosing to practice in rural areas following residency, based on a rolling three-year average.
“The UNMC Family Medicine Rural Training Track Family Medicine Residency Program is one of the oldest rural programs in the nation. We are proud to be part of such an impressive legacy helping to train family physicians,” said Lindsey Mosel, MD, Regional West Physicians Clinic-Family Medicine physician and associate director for the UNMC Family Medicine Rural Training Track Family Medicine Residency Program.
