Regional West Honors Staff at Quarterly Awards Banquet

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – Regional West hosted its first quarter employee awards reception to recognize staff for years of service, and recipients of the STAR, PEARL, and DAISY awards for outstanding service and patient care. Employees are nominated quarterly by co-workers, staff, patients, and visitors.

The STAR program at Regional West encourages employees, patients, their family members, and visitors to nominate employees who demonstrate outstanding care and customer service. The STAR award winner for the first quarter is Deb Keller, who works in Information Technology.

The PEARL award recognizes employees for outstanding customer service, quality patient care, and teamwork. PEARL award winners for the fourth quarter are Annie Weidaman, RN, of Regional West Physicians Clinic-Orthopaedics, and radiologic technologist Chelsie Weidaman, of Regional West Physicians Clinic-Orthopaedics.

The DAISY Award is an international program that celebrates excellence in nursing. It recognizes and honors the inspiring work that nurses do every day. The winners of the DAISY Award are Kathy Mackrill, RN, who works in the Endoscopy Department and Peg Jackson, RN, who works in the Surgery Center.

Regional West also honored long-term employees; recognizing staff who have worked for Regional West from five to 40 years.

20 Years: Sheila Jensen – Patient Access, Jaimie Martin-Connell – Operating Room, Amy Mikesell – Rehab Center, Julie Franklin – Marketing and Public Relations; 25 Years: Barbara Lebruska – Physicians Clinic-Family Medicine, Gering; 30 Years: Carmen Benavides – Surgery Center, Kristi Henkel – Quality Resource, Robin Cushing – Birth and Infant Care Center; 35 Years: Kimberly Schmidt – Physicians Clinic-Internal Medicine and Family Medicine Medical Records; 40 Years: Patricia Clay – Physicians Clinic-Orthopaedics, Karla Sandberg – Microbiology.
