Regional West Diabetes Support Group to Discuss Diabetes Management

Scottsbluff, Neb., – If you have diabetes, are you aware of your A1C level? Have you talked with your health care provider about an A1C goal that is right for you? Has your health care professional suggested insulin and you’re saying “No way!”? Have you just started insulin and have questions? The next Diabetes Care Center Support Group meeting is for you.

Gina Guadefroy, a specially trained member of the A1C Champions® Program supported by Sanofi US, will present a free, one-hour educational program at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 22, in the Regional West Medical Plaza South, room 1202. Guadefroy has diabetes and takes insulin as part of her overall diabetes treatment plan that includes diet, exercise, and other diabetes medications. She will explain why taking insulin is not a sign of failure, but rather a tool to help achieve blood sugar control as part of an overall diabetes treatment plan. She will also address the concerns she had when starting insulin and misconceptions about insulin.

Sanofi US provides a patient-led approach to diabetes education. A1C Champions® know first-hand the challenges to managing diabetes, and understand the fear and uncertainty about taking insulin. They share their personal experiences with diabetes self-management.
