Regional West Medical Center Community Health operates in cooperation with the Scotts Bluff County Health Department. The Community Health department serves all populations in the area.  By contract with the hospital, nursing services for the county are provided by RWMC Community Health personnel.

Located on the ground floor of the Regional West South Unit, the Community Health office offers an immunization clinic, genetic clinic and wellness programs, including work site wellness. Free blood pressure and blood sugar screenings are offered Wednesday mornings from 8 to 9 a.m.

Worksite wellness is part of the work done by Community Health.  In addition to assisting businesses with education and some screenings, vaccinations are also available to workers on-site. Physicals for daycare workers are also available. Keeping employees well is profitable for everyone concerned!

Educational Programs-The nursing staff of Community Health is available to speak to your group/class on a wide range of health related topics. Programs appropriate for all age groups and interests can be presented.

Public awareness and education on many health topics as wells as selected immunizations are  provided through a number of programs, including booths at fairs and other community events. We set up shop at functions such as Farm and Ranch Expo, Home and Garden Show, Scotts Bluff Co. Fair and others. Stop by and see us!

Health fairs provide easily accessible and economical ways to monitor wellness. RWMC Community Health is pleased to help provide these screening services along with other RWMC departments.

Epidemiology –Community Health nurses are specially trained in the identification, monitoring, treatment and follow up of communicable diseases. Partnering with Infection Control personnel, county, state and if necessary, national health departments and  epidemiologists, outbreaks are identified and treated in a timely manner. Such identification, treatment and follow up helps to limit the involvement of the public in contracting these illnesses.  Education on communicable diseases and prevention is available on an individual or group basis. Call us for more information.

Emergency preparedness – are you and your family or business prepared in the event of a natural or man made disaster?  Community Health is active with emergency preparedness.  Working with local, state and national coordinating entities, our communities are constantly being protected and served in the event of a disaster. Training is a part of the preparedness and includes all local law enforcement, fire departments, ambulance services, emergency medical personnel, support staff and volunteers.  Education regarding emergency preparedness for you, your family or business organization is always available.
