Joseph Jeter, PA-C, Receives National Distinction

Scottsbluff, NE – Joseph Jeter, PA-C, Regional West Physicians Clinic – Internal Medicine, was recently recognized as a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

“Joe joins a select number of outstanding physician assistants who have distinguished themselves among their colleagues, as well as their communities, by their service to the physician assistant profession, their commitment to advancing health care for all people, and by their exemplary personal and professional development,” said Cynthia Lord, president of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Jeter has been a practicing physician assistant (PA) for the past 27 years. He has practiced internal medicine at Regional West Physicians Clinic – Internal Medicine under the supervision of Terry L. Haney, MD, for the past 19 years.

“It’s been my pleasure to have a professional relationship with Joe,” said Dr. Haney. “Joe not only provides exceptional care to those requesting or referred for medical services, but he also maintains a very active schedule mentoring and assisting his peers so that they may likewise deliver integrated service of highest quality. I learn daily from my exposure to Joe’s acumen and good nature.”

Jeter has dual Bachelor of Science degrees; one from Northwest Missouri State University and the other from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He earned a Masters degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1982.

Physician assistants are licensed health professional who practice medicine as members of a team with their supervising physicians. PAs deliver a broad range of medical and surgical services to diverse populations in rural and urban settings. As part of their comprehensive responsibilities, PAs conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel on preventive health care, assist in surgery and prescribe medications.
