Regional West Foundation Raises $1.3 Million for 3D Tomography

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – The annual Regional West Foundation gala was a huge success − raising over $180,000 to purchase 3D tomography. 3D tomography is the latest technology for breast cancer detection. It is the best technology for detecting breast cancer in dense breast tissue. The new 3D tomography equipment will be available at the Regional West Breast Health Center by early 2019.

“This year’s event was more successful than we could have even imagined,” said John Massey, chairman of the Regional West Foundation board of directors. “We are humbled by the support providers, staff, and community members have shown for 3D tomography.”

More than 300 guests gathered for the Foundation’s signature event, which honored the Regional West Breast  Health Center providers and staff.

“Major sponsors for the gala, held Friday, Oct. 12, included Western States Bank, Ideal Linen, Hampton Inn & Suites and Conference Center, and Kelley Bean Company. This is the one event that brings our community leaders, health system leaders, and guests all together to celebrate the advancement of health care through Regional West, and it was a special night for the Breast Health Center, as they realized  they will soon have the new 3D tomography,” said Julie Marshall, Regional West Foundation director of development.

Major donations which have contributed to the overall goal of $1.3 million include Platte Valley Companies, Fliesbach Family Foundation, 21st Century Equipment, Kelley Bean Company, Jim and Helen  Reinhardt, Paul and Lisa Mohr, First State Bank, Mark and Karrie Gillam, Dr. Glen Forney, and Radiology Imaging of Nebraska. Regional West employees also donated close to $65,000 for the equipment.

“Thank you to the Foundation’s volunteer board of directors and our foundation team for their hard work and dedication to raising funds to provide 3D tomography at Regional West. We couldn’t have done this without all the donors in the community and throughout the region. Thank you,” said John Mentgen, President and CEO of Regional West Health Services.
